Migration Overview
Learn how to use the pcemigrate tool to migrate from an on-premises PCE to a SaaS PCE.
Important
Login and download the migration tool from the Illumio Support portal.

Prepare for Migration | 1. Review the prerequisites. |

Start the Migration | 2. Perform the Initial Replication | During the initial replication, copies of on-premises PCE policy objects, workloads, policies, and selected configuration settings are replicated to Illumio SaaS. After initial replication, the VEN migration is performed by region or by cluster member. See Initial Replication. |
3. Perform the VEN migration in batches | Perform VEN Migration in Batches. | |
4. Follow up on the migration process | Review Changes During the VEN Migration to observe what has changed. | |
Finish Post-Migration Tasks | 5. Conduct Post-Migration tasks | Verify that the migration is complete by finishing Post-Migration Tasks. For reference, see the pcemigrate command reference topic. |
